Vintage Pond Yatch
This is a classic vintage pond yatch dating from the early 20th century. It is made of wood with a heavy lead keel and self steering (Braine type?) steering. Sometime in its history the hull was painted with white gloss paint and some of the deck fittings have been damaged. Since then it has been wrapped up in various lofts and cellars for at least 50 years.
The plan is to restore it back to as original as possible, though it looks like these sails may have been replaced a long time ago. Some of the brass fittings are missing and others require replacing but the automatic steering should work again.
This would make an excellent centrepiece for any nautical or vintage to a well appointed shop front, cafe, office or comfortable themed lounge.
The previous owner recalls sailing this on a local pond and spent many a happy hour trying to retrieve it from the bushes at the other side, and if you do decide to use it again remember to take a long stick with you. It helps to retrieve it from the bushes apparently.
Approx. size when assembled: W8 “x L30” x H55” (keel to top of mast) (200 x 760x 1400mm)

Victorian "Bottle-Jack"
Recent addition. Every antique and vintage shop worth calling itself an antique or vintage shop has to have one of these. Bottle jacks were clockwork rotary spits which were hung over open ranges to cook meat, usually. Originally it would have had a circular rack hung from the lower hook on which additional hooks held the meat. The clockwork mechanism would slowly turn the food one way and then stop and reverse. It was actuated when a load was placed on the hook which had a spring-loaded attachment to the mechanism.
This one doesn’t work - yet. It is in our shop in case anyone wants a period ornamant or curio for their lair.
